Bordered by New York City and the Long Island Sound to the south, the Hudson River to the west, Putnam County (Hudson Valley Region) to the north, and Fairfield County (Connecticut) to the east, the region covers an area of 450 square miles and almost one million residents.  

An amalgam of volunteer and career providers, independent and fire service based organizations,  EMS operations in the Westchester Region are comprised of forty-three (43) certified ambulance services, two (2) ALS First Response agencies, and over thirty (30) BLS First Response agencies. 

The Regional EMS Council and its Program Agency, the Westchester County Department of Emergency Services, are responsible for overseeing and coordinating EMS operations as per New York State Public Health Law in the county of Westchester.

  • Regional STEMI Program Advisory (2/10/2010)
    The Westchester REMAC has approved a process that allows patients presenting with specific signs and symptoms of Myocardial Infarction to be transported by paramedic services directly to specialty hospitals capable of providing primary percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI).

    Any questions regarding this advisory should be directed to the Regional EMS Office at 914-231-1616.

  • 2010 REMAC Schedule UPDATE (2/10/2010)

    The Westchester REMAC has elected to revise its meeting schedule. As a result, meetings will now occur on the third Monday of every other month.
